Carter joins Brunswick PR
Former Ofcom chief executive Stephen Carter is joining city PR firm Brunswick as group chief executive.
Carter had been linked with the chief executive role at ITV before BBC chairman Michael Grade was appointed as the ITV executive chairman last week. He will report to Brunswick chairman Alan Parker, who founded the company in 1987.
Parker says: "The scale and breadth of the firm is such that now is the right time to appoint an experienced chief executive."
Brunswick’s clients include NTL, where Carter was previously managing director. He says communications advice has "never been more important to business". He adds: "Brunswick is in a unique position to lead the growth in advisory services in all the major capital markets."
Carter is also a former chief executive of advertising agency JWT.
