FA names commercial chief
The Football Association has announced Stuart Turner will oversee its commercial operations on a permanent basis.
Turner will lead on negotiating broadcasting rights and sponsorship deals for the England national teams as well as commercial partnerships for Wembley Stadium.
Turner, previously head of broadcast, has been acting commercial director since May 2010, taking the lead on securing Vauxhall and Budweiser as lead sponsors for the England team and FA Cup.
Sean McAuliffe, head of business development, and head of sponsorship Peter Daire will report into him.
The FA will be hoping to follow the announcement of Turner’s permanent appointment by filling the marketing and communications chief role, vacant since Julian Eccles left last month.
Managing director of Club England and former communications chief Adrian Bevington is currently overseeing communications, while general secretary Alex Horne is leading on marketing and public affairs.
