Hyundai unveils Euro 2012 ambassadors
Hyundai has unveiled five footballers, including Chelsea and England player Daniel Sturridge, as brand ambassadors to be used in marketing campaigns to activate its sponsorship of the European Championships.
Strurridge is joined by Spanish international Iker Casillas, Germany’s Lukas Podolski, Italy’s Giuseppe Rossi and France and Real Madrid star Karim Benzema in “Team Hyundai”.
The car marque is a top tier partner of European football’s governing body UEFA and has sponsored the European Championships since 2000.
A charitable initiative has also been launched that will see €1 donated to “supporting young people and players to realise their ambitions” every time one of the footballers is “liked” on the Team Hyundai Facebook page.
Further details of what the €250,000 the company is hoping to raise through the initiative will be announced ahead of the June tournament, Hyundai says.
