Vodafone promotes Indian marketer into global role
Vodafone has promoted Harit Nagpal, currently director of marketing and new business of its Indian operations Vodafone Essar, into a global role to be based in the UK.
It is not clear at this stage what senior marketing position he will take on, but he is expected to report to global chief marketing officer, Frank H Rovekamp.
Nagpal will be based in London and is expected to take up his new position in the next three to four months.
Over the last six years, he has held a number of positions at the telecommunications company, including director operations for Mumbai.
Prior to joining Vodafone, he was with Shoppers’ Stop as head of operations and marketing.
Vodafone Essar in India is a subsidiary of Vodafone Group and began operations in 1994 when its predecessor Hutchison Telecom acquired the cellular licence for Mumbai.
It now covers 86% of India’s mobile customer base, with over 34.1 million customers.
This month, Vodafone announced it would be trialling the personalisation of its portal home page in a bid to allow subscribers from all networks to access cross-platform content.
